Discovered: At age 11 months she was already modeling in Ivory Snow ads. When she was 12, Shields played a child prostitute in the controversial Pretty Baby, in which she appeared nude. She then proceeded to appear nude in The Blue Lagoon. After a series of unsuccessful films and a Princeton hiatus, she reemerged, all grown up, in a one-episode stint on Friends, playing a psycho fan. NBC booked her for her own sitcom, Suddenly Susan.
