She showed her passion for acting at an early age when she took the lead role in several school plays such as, Arthur, The Young Years, and The Happy Prince. In addition, she took part in many school productions and as a 7 year old, won first prize at the Daisy Pratt Poetry Competition for her year. Emma's professional movie debut was the box office hit, Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone, where she played the role of Hermione Granger. She served on a select panel of juries for the 2004 Teenage Filmmakers Awards ceremony, held in London's Leicester Square, along with Pierce Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh, and Samantha Morton.
